It isn't easy to play a collegiate sport. The practices, the road trips, create a challenging lifestyle for a college student trying to cut it in the classroom as well. The adjustment is especially difficult for an incoming freshman.
Sami Weaver, however, took on a major challenge this year, her freshman year at Viterbo. After competing for the Viterbo women's basketball team this winter—starting 15 games at guard in the process—Weaver decided to play softball for the V-Hawks as well.

Playing multiple sports is nothing new for Weaver, who played three in high school. When asked about the time and effort it takes to play multiple sports, Weaver that she's "very thankful to be able to play two sports. I wouldn't want it any other way. My schedule's full and I have to make sure I'm constantly updating it and staying on top of things. I chose to play basketball and softball because I know I will give 100 percent heart and 110 percent effort all the time. If I were to give less than that in either of my sports, I wouldn't play."
Weaver and the V-Hawks will play their final home game of the season on April 28, as they host conference foe William Penn.
