While the Viterbo volleyball team has fallen short of its conference championship aspirations, they recovered to go 4-0 in the UW-Eau Claire tournament on Oct. 23 and 24.
Viterbo faced off with MCC rival and first-place St. Ambrose on Oct. 21. The V-Hawks entered the game with a 4-1 conference record, while St. Ambrose entered with a 6-0 mark.
Unfortunately, all the buzz surrounding the game was quickly silenced by the Queen Bees, as they took the match in three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-18, and 25-21. Viterbo struggled with mental errors throughout the night, and St. Ambrose didn't hesitate to take advantage. Jenna Lau led Viterbo with twelve kills, while Heather Harelstad had fourteen digs.
Despite the setback, Viterbo faced a quick turnaround and responded well, winning the Blugold Invitational at UW-Eau Claire. The V-Hawks took down four WIAC schools, including UW-Stout, UW-Superior,
Heather Harelstad and Jenna Lau were named to the All-Tournament team at the invite.
