When I first heard about the parents from Wisconsin who stood by and prayed while their daughter slowly died from untreated diabetes, I wasn't sure what to think. I have had diabetes since I was three-years-old. I was shocked, saddened, and disgusted that these parents let this happen to their child. I thank God that my parents had the decency and knowledge to seek medical attention for this very treatable disease that millions of people live with.
How could a parent, let alone both, stand there and continue to pray as their daughter was dying? I realize their faith was very strong, but they shouldn't have been so ignorant to think that God would not have wanted them to take their child to the hospital to save her life.
The saddest part is that these parents don't even understand they did something wrong. I will never understand how someone could think that God would want them to stand by and pray. If someone agrees with their choice, please try and explain it to me.
