The spring semester has arrived at Viterbo, even if everything outside seems to say that spring is but a distant dream. With the new semester comes a new slew of shows and events to watch out for at Viterbo. Here's a guide for what to watch out for before spring break:
· I Musici de Montreal, a chamber orchestra of 15 musicians, will be performing on Viterbo's Main Stage Sunday, Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. Among the pieces played will be: Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, Tchaikovsky's Andante Cantabile and Souvenir de Florence.
· Li Hu's "The Rape of Nanking" will be on exhibit from Jan. 27-Feb. 17. The exhibit is a combination of drawings and mixed media about the barbarities that occurred in
· Viterbo's Humanities Symposium, "The Nuclear Threat: Understanding the History and Future Consequences of Nuclear Weaponry" will be occurring Feb. 1-3 throughout each day.
· Anton In Show Business will be running Feb. 4-6 at 7:30 p.m. each night.
· A recital featuring numbers from the musical Titanic will be performed Feb. 6. Benefits from the recital will go "Paula's Purse", a charity for cancer patients to help with the cost of daily living. For more information on this recital, go to the Lumen's website: www.viterbolumen.com.
· Feb. 12-14 in the Recital Hall, Viterbo's Music department will be presenting Menotti's The Old Maid and the Thief, a comic opera in one act. Shows will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, and Saturday, Feb. 13, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 14.
· Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall, the One of a Kind Chamber Music Series will continue with the concert "Glorious Thunderstorm".
